The San Francisco Giants are the most successful major league baseball franchise of the past decade, winning three world championships over a five-year span. This success on the field translated to wins in the box office, as well, with a 530 game sellout streak—the second longest in MLB history. But in recent years, the formula that brought the Giants this unprecedented success hasn’t yielded the same results. With a new EVP of Baseball Operations, new General Manager, new Field Manager and a new name (Oracle!) on their iconic ballpark, change is the only constant. Longtime CIO, Bill Schlough, who has experienced all of the highs and lows over his 20+ year tenure with the team, will share the story of how analytics are driving this transformation—and will ultimately help bring another championship to the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park.
