Normal code for Hadoop involves text data. In this research effort sonar data files in binary format were loaded into Hadoop and using Java libraries on HDFS the Metadata (latitude, longitude, timestamp)were extracted and stored in a Hive database. The data was then moved to an Oracle Relational Model Database using Sqoop jobs. APEX was used to visualize the geographical data on Google maps.
